I have been thinking about how I can use traditional trapunto techniques to add more dimension to my quilts. Ultimately I want to find a way to make textile bas reliefs. I haven't quite worked that out but this is one of the pieces working towards that. The bones in in high relief, the flesh of the hand is somewhat less padded, and the background is heavily quilted to flatten it. This quilt is mounted on board and can be hung on a single hook.
