Traditional quilts
"Where is the north star?"
2006
78.5" x 98"
This quilt was made for the theme category "Starry, starry night" at the 2006 Quilts UK show at Malvern. It is based on a traditional quilt block called a mariner's compass, but has been set in offset rows to make this unique quilt design. The background is made of over 1500 pieces of assorted dark blue and purple fabrics to represent the night sky. The quilting was all done on my longarm machine, and the background is filled with quilted stars.
This quilt is for sale at £1,800
